☳ From as far back as I can remember I’ve been highly focused on patterns.
☳ Ideas that tessellate, interference that holds meaning.
☳ Especially visual occurences.
☳ And as I’ve spent more time sitting still whilst moving fast.
☳ I’ve learned to spot patterns and find connections between things.
☳ Not only does it help my day job, but it seems to make my brain happy. This is why you’ll see recurring mini themes in TEOWAD.
☳ The trick has been to try and link certain things together, without making things seem repetitive. I have yet to hear back from those beta reading for me yet. So it might be that I’ve completely failed in that area.
☳ But hopefully not, and readers will get a sense of something that they don’t quite actually read. Sounds mad, I know, but I’ve never been sensible.
☳ ‘The Eighth Configuration’ Series is based around an idea I’ve had for ages.
☳ And, without blowing my own wind instrument, it is ambitious.
☶ I always knew it was, and probably would never achieve what I wanted.
☶ But I feel much more optimistic these days, what with TEOWAD:EP1 almost there.
☶ The hardest part has been juggling the various threads I need. This is probably true for any writer. Which is why the first episode starts of slower and begins to pick up momentum. I’m trying not to lose people.
☶ Episode two flies along probably at too faster pace at the moment. So there will probably be quite a bit of balancing work to do there.
☶ I’ve really enjoyed working on it as a project, however, which makes it all the more frustrating that I cannot focus on it fully. Real life gets in the way. But then, recently realising that I have elements of OCD, probably mean that’s a good thing.
☶ This is what I love about writing however.
☶ Despite my actual dislike of words.
☶ Is how one idea can be an analogy for something else.
☶ And that in turn can be another layer for another element.
☶ Perhaps, as far back as these patterns recall, they’ve been highly focused on me.
